Launch party at Grindstone Winery and Vineyards,
September 29!
So far we’ve raised $158,000! Our goal is $300,000.
Big Day of Giving
You can continue to donate as part of our Big Day of Giving campaign… click here!
Thank you to all who donated in 2024!
This year we were excited to join the team behind the Giving Edge and Big Day of Givving… the Sacramento Region Community Foundation!
This BDOG fundraising year we designated our Entry Project as the recipient of donations. The project includes:
• Restoration of trim, stairs, footing, rails, and concrete apron.
• Restoration and paint exterior wall surrounding the entry way.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 that will supplement the generous $5,900 grant already provided by the Stroll Through History of Woodland CA.
Membership
Stay tuned for the launch of a membership program that will help the trustees effectively manage our restoration and development programs.
In-kind donations
As a grass roots project, we gladly accept donations of all kinds… including volunteer work and contributions of needed building materials and expertise.
Limerick Challenge
The global “Limerick Challenge” is to raise awareness for the Union Church of Dunnigan restoration and to gain buddies in our upcoming capital campaign! The timeline for the call for entries has been extended to March 17, 2025 – at which time selections will be announced.
“There is an old church in Dunnigan” challenge!
This is your opportunity for limerick shenanigans… to be a poetic hooligan… or to simply show off again. Most of all, it’s your opportunity to spread the word – through a perfect (or not-so-perfect) combination of words – about our humble, little house of worship that was built in 1893.
A grand prize will be awarded to the limerick that best captures the spirit of the Union Church of Dunnigan and its flock (according to our full discretion*).
Honorary limericks, a total of 131 (one for each year of the church built in 1893), will be selected according to the same criteria. This will include the grand prize winner.
The 131 awardees will win a very nice gift (according to our standards 🙂 and a copy of the book we intend to publish (if all goes well).
Additionally, we are conducting a call-for-artists to create small black and white pen sketches of the church, its architectural characteristics, or the community – an undetermined number will be included in the book.
We’d love to have school kids participate… so if you are a teacher, or know one, pass this along so they can include it in a lesson!
Stay tuned for updates.
